Week 10 Term 3!!!!!!!!

Wow the time has gone quickly.

We had a busy weekend in the Hall household celebrating a 10th and 11th birthday...the energy children have is amazing isn't it?  Now we can plan Francesca's 3rd birthday for next weekend!

To celebrate a term of learning room 10 will be having a shared lunch on Friday. Please could you send a plate of food to share for this. ( you may not want to order juices and sausages on this day!)

Golden time was so popular the children wish to have marble races again, so we will do this on Friday.

Great team work room 10!

This was from a wee while ago...dress up day.
Don't they all look gorgeous:-)

This week I will be finishing some testing and the class will be doing some assessments.

The children will be spending maths time focusing on MEASUREMENT.
So ask your children during the week what activities they have been involved in with this maths strand.

In RE we are still working on the God strand and we have some neat activities planned for this.

In reading we continue to learn more basic sight words and are looking at strategies for working out tricky words in our reading.
Like: reading on, cross checking,  looking at the parts of the word we already know
( to in today)
Please read and go over the poems in the children's home books and the word lists. It is really important to read each day to keep the momentum and the knowledge of reading words up.
Our wonderful librarian runs a reading competition over the holidays so add the list of books your child has been reading over the holidays. Some great prizes are up for grabs!!

In writing we will be writing our personal stories and using words we know and words we can find on words cards.

Thank you all for your help this term. Room 10 are a fantastic little crew with big personalities!

Have a great break with your children but please keep the reading going!

God bless,

Bernie Hall

TRIP!!
Rotorua Intermediate to see some science experiments in action!

This Wednesday, leaving school at 10:00 am. We are walking, so please make sure your child has a light raincoat.

Thanks to all those who are able to help, I will allocate a small group to each of you on Wednesday.

Thanks to Rebecca (Thennessons' mum ) for helping arrange this trip!

Mass this Friday 9:00am.
This is the birthday of Mary and will be a school mass. Please make sure your child is on time for school.

Can you also talk to your child about appropriate behaviour in church.
I will take the class on a visit to the church again prior to Friday. I was very happy with the way room 10 behaved in mass last time.

Keep up the home reading and reading of the basic sight words. It really helps. At reading time remember to ask your child questions about the books...What may happen next? Can you think of another book we have read like this?

Have a great week,

Bernie
